What is polished plaster? Polished plaster is a very fine lime putty with the addition of marble dust to add texture and depth.
What will it look like? It depends on which plaster you choose, but generally anything from a warm textured finish through to a very high sheen almost glass like finish.
How many colours are there to choose from? There are 60 standard colours to choose from but the company that I source my plaster from also offer a Dulux colour match service.
How many types of plaster are there to choose from? There are 6 to choose from: Lucidato, Marmorino classic, yorkstone and limestone, Intona and Mettalic stucco
How durable is polished plaster? Extremely, especially once it has received two coats of wax.
Does it require any maintenance? Not unless you have polished plaster installed in an area of extreme water contact.
On what surfaces and where can I have polished plaster? Polished plaster can be applied to many sound, flat surfaces including cement and plastered walls, wood, MDF, metal plus latex and screed floors. Some polished plasters are also appropriate for outdoor use.
Will it be messy? Not really, probably as messy as having the decorators in!
Is it expensive? Well it isn't cheap but then remember that this is a highly skilled service and the finished product will be unique to you and your property.
